Sicura is currently seeing clients for couples therapy, premarital counseling, and blended family adjustment counseling.
She is available Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday evenings, and Saturday mornings for virtual sessions. In-person sessions are available for fully vaccinated people on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. She serves clients in Georgia.
Sicura has over two decades working with people and helping them learn, grow, and cope with the challenges of life. As a former teacher and a school counselor, she gained experience in helping people feel comfortable opening up simply with her calm presence. Being a non-judgmental and accepting presence is one of her highest values.
Sicura is a proud stepparent of four, and feels lucky to have lived all over the world with exposure to many different cultures and people. She is also a foodie who will travel anywhere for a great meal and will try anything once.
“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.” — Carl H. Rogers
Sheri currently offers “stay or go” counseling, relationship counseling for one, divorce support and recovery, and heartbreak recovery.
She is available for virtual sessions Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday daytime hours, and Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. In-person sessions are available for fully vaccinated people on Wednesdays and Thursdays. She serves clients in Georgia and South Carolina.
She also recognizes that despite all best efforts, some relationships do end. Sheri is passionate about helping people through all the stages of the separation or divorce process, including figuring out if that is the right decision, going through the process, and healing and redefining one’s life on the other side. She uses her skills as a Certified Divorce Coach to help clients decide if divorce is right for them, maneuver through the process, and heal on the other side to create a new and fulfilling post-divorce life.
Sheri is an avid dancer, the mother of a teenage daughter, an entrepreneur, a native Oklahoman (otherwise known as an “Okie”), and considers The Crescent City her second home. She loves to travel and will take any opportunity to explore a new place. Sheri can occasionally be found on one of the many beautiful hiking trails around Atlanta or North Georgia.
This Atlanta therapist had the benefit of seeing what it takes to make a marriage last for decades as her parents were married almost 51 years when her mother passed away. She knows that marriage is not easy (right?!?) as she has also experienced first hand the challenges that marriage can bring and what it takes to maneuver through them. Sheri knows that the work on a relationship can be difficult, and sometimes hard decisions need to be made along the way. She also knows the rewards can be rich from doing growth work, both individually and as a couple.
Her varied background in different mental health settings include a family service agency and counseling center, hospice care, emergency room, and a psychiatric hospital. They have given her rich experiences that inform her current work as a psychotherapist. She appreciates working with clients of all spiritual and religious backgrounds.
